Asthma in Children can cause heart failure. Children who have asthma since childhood if not treated can cause heart failure during adulthood. Researchers warn that children who had suffered from asthma since childhood have a greater potential for chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, until heart failure when fully grown.
Based on research, asthma in children can cause left ventricular thickening. This is one of the four chambers of the heart chamber which is responsible for pumping oxygenated blood throughout the body with a condition called left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). This thickening can lead to loss of elasticity of the heart and ultimately leading to heart failure in pumping.
